Hi!
My name is Vyacheslav Kuletski (ViK). I was born in Belarus, Europe in December 1983.
Being a pupil of a general school I was also studing at a musical school for 5 years. After successful graduating the high school I entered BSU law college which I was attending for 3 years but left at the last year of education in case to become a pupil of a famous local luthier. I’ ve been learning the process of crafting guitars for 2,5 years and after that started my own practice as the number of custom orders, service and repairs I was asked to perform allowed me to work for myself.
And I’ve never looked back ever since performing tons of repairs, fretting and refretting, paints and repaints, detailed setups and general service, but as the main – crafting new custom guitars. Just like the most of luthiers I started from making custom replicas of existing models and by this day I’ve made nearly all the popular ones. That was really a great experience which gave me understanding of most of the ideas ever put in a specific guitar. It did also shaped my visual and sound taste as well as loaded me with a great bunch of ideas and conceptions, strong enough to create (and keep creating) ViK Guitars models’ line.
These days I’m mostly evolved in custom guitars crafting but I also produce “serial” ViK Guitars made under my designs and specs for sale worldwide.
Talking about more personal stuff:
I’m married and I have a child (my little son Vlad, who is dead on guitars just right the way I’m).
I like drawing, reading, cooking and watching good films.
For me being guitarcrafter for sure means being a guitar fun as well. Guitars are my passion and life even though I no longer play in a band or so. The longer it goes the stronger I feel I’m getting more satisfaction of watching and listening great musicians play my guitars.
I listen to a wide range of musical styles and band. Starting from Sting, Jeff Beck and Cosmosquad and to Gojira, Cynic, Pantera and Nevermore. I don’t really care about styles or fashion. It’s music or it’s not and it doesn’t really matter how low it’s tuned or heavy played.
